类指

类指是表示类别,也就是泛指一类人或物。不论是定冠词还是不定冠词和零冠词都具有这种功能

定冠词与单数可数名词搭配,往往可起类指的作用，常用手正式语体

Bell invents the telephone. 贝尔发明了电话。

定冠词与某些形容调或分词连用，表示类别或抽象概念

The true, the good and the beautiful would not exist without the false, the evil and the ugly.没有欺骗、邪恶、丑陋就没有真实、善良、美丽。

不定冠词用手类指，往往表示“任一” “某一”“—个/种/样/杯”、“每一个”,一般用手单数可数名词前,偶尔用于某出物质名词、抽象名词前

A horse is useful to mankind. 马对人类有用。

用零冠调与复数可数名词或不可数名调搭配.同样可以表示一类的人或物

My brother Joln is planning to be a civil serwant. 我的兄弟釣輪打算成为一名公务员。

特指

特指是特指一类人或物中的具体对象。这里有两种情况：一种是非管明确地指出何人或何物，这叫做“确定特指"(Definite Specifie Reference)，定冠词常作这种用法;另一种情况是“非确定特指"(Indefinite Specific Reference).这也是待指具体对象

He ordered a book some time ago. The book has now arrived .他不久前订购了一本书，廊本书现在到达。（特指上文提到过的书）

The dog and the cat are the same ones we had last year. 这狗和猫是我们去年就养了的。(特指去年就饲养了的狗和猫）

冠词的习惯用法

在世上独有的事物方位前文提到的事物、说话语境中明确的事物、最高级以及序数词修饰的事物、山、河、湖、海、楼、塔、沙漠以及各含有普通名词构成的专有名词等等，一般都要用定冠词

The sun is bigger than the moon. 太阳比月光大。

以下场合一股不用冠词：专有名词、物质名词、抽象名词前;节假日、星期、月份、季节、疾病名称前;头衔前：球类运动前：泛指的三餐前;by引导的交通工具前;菜些独立结构的名词前：“普通名词+as"引导的让步状语从句的普通名词前

名词前有one, no, each, every, either, neither, some, any, this, that, these, those, which, it所有格名词或代词时，不可再用冠词

Which apple would you like？你要哪一个苹果？

在bed. church, college, court, hospital, market, office, prison, sea, school. table 等名词前.如果带定冠词或不定冠词则表示该名词所表示的处所;若不用冠词，则表示该处所的功能

go to hospital 去医院看病

类指的 television 和radio 通常没有冠词，但是 on/over/to the radio 中the不可省略。如 listen to the radio, on the radio 等;而在television 之前却又可以不用定冠词 watch (the) television, on (the) television.

疾病通常是不可数名词，前面不用冠词。但 get a cold:-感冒-和 get a headache“头痛”一般要用冠词,have toothache“牙痛”却又不用冠词

冠词的位置

原则上冠词要放在其他的形容词之前

不定冠词a或an 要放在what, such, many,half 等形容词后。即：what/such/many/half+a/an(+形容词)+名词

当名词前的形容词被副词as, so, too,how, however， enough 修饰时，不定冠词应放在形容词之后

So short a time. 时间太短了。

冠词一般放在副词 guite 或 rather 之后，但如果该名词前还有其他形容词，冠词也可放在quite 或rather 之前,但放在后面更普遍

It's rather a pity. 这有点令人遗憾。

限定词与限定词的搭配关系

三类限定词

前位限定词

all, both, half，倍数 (double, twice, three times, etc.)；分数(one-third, two-fifths, etc.); what a(n), such a(n) 等

中位限定词

冠词(the，a,an）；指示代词(this, that, these, those)；人称代词 (my, your, ete);名词属格 (Mary's, my friend's, ete.)；不定代词 (some, any, no, every, each, either, neither, enough); what(ever), which(ever), whose 等

后位限定词

基数词(one, two,three, ete.);序数词 (first, second, third, ete.); next, last, other,another, etc; many, much, (a) few, (a) little, fewer, (the) fewest, less, (the) least, more, most; several, plenty of, a lot of, lots of, a great/large/good number of,

多个限定词同时限定同一名词时,遵循“前位＋中位＋后位”的基本顺序。同一个名词词组中，通常不可以并用两个前位限定词或两个中位限定词，而后位限定词可以叠用
