During the American Civil War, four daughters and their mother lived a hard but strong and optimistic life at home. In real life, they have been relying on their own efforts to solve all kinds of difficulties in life. Meg, the eldest daughter, is naturally fond of beauty and full of longing for love: Joe, the second daughter, is independent and determined to become a writer; Beth, the third daughter, is a traditional good girl, and Amy, the weak and lovable little daughter, is fond of painting. The story follows the years when these four women grew up from girls to little women, and tells their unbridled love experience and their respective pursuit of different ideals and ends.
