Companiesthesedaysmustbewillingandabletochangeconstantly.Sometimescompanieschangecoursetosurvive,andsometimestheydosobecauseanopportunityistoogoodtoresist.Iknowofasmallcompanythatprovidedamessengerserviceseveralyearsago.Asuddenmajorincreaseincorporateuseoffaxmachinesnearlyputthissmallcompanyoutofbusiness.Fortunately,theownerofthecompanywasastuteenoughtorealizeotherglobalcorporatetrendshappeningatthesametime.
Theownershiftedgearsfromofferingamessengerservicetoprovidinganoffsiterecordsstorageservice,andsoonbusinesswasboomingonceagain.Itallcomesdowntoperspective.Whentherewasadownturnintheeconomy,somepeoplecouldsay“Thisisterrible!Withthedownturnintheeconomy,nobodywillhaveabudgetformyservice.”Orothersthought“Thisisgreat!Withthetighteningofbudgetsandthelossofsupportstaff,there’sanevengreaterneedforprofessionalstobeeffective,whichispreciselywhatI’mheretohelpthemdo!”
