教育的话题非常重要,历史上总共考过5次,近几年也反复考。比如13年的大学毕业生的选择,以及前年的大学生如何选课。针对这种题目我们可以写原因和影响以及建议。
Key words:extracurricular reading;cage;broaden horizon;prestigious university;land a decent job;increasingly fierce competition
As is described in the cartoon,a student is caged in a tiny room bent on his assignment while materials for extracurricular reading are coated with dust and spider-webs.Apparently,the purpose of the drawing goes far beyond the poor boy;instead,it conveys to us the message that much more attention should be paid to reading outside classroom.
It is not exaggeration to assert that extracurricular reading can benefit students far more than merely doing endless assignments. Not only can it cultivate student interest in the courses they learn, but also it can serve to broaden their horizon.Unfortunately, gone is the time when students could wake up at sunrise and go to bed at sunset,or to read books that interest them.Who has stolen their time?No stealer. They are deprived of the time for extracurricular reading for fear of"failure"and belief in"success".For example, school children always burn midnight oil for better performance in exams to be admitted to prestigious universities.Similarly, college students occasionally study around the clock for competitive edge over others so that they might have higher GPA which can help them land a decent job.
As a result of the increasingly fierce competition and quickening pace of life, everyone in contemporary society is burdened with endless stress and strain. However, for the benefit of students and society as a whole,it is essential for educators and parents to realize the significance of extracurricular reading.
